During one of Hollywood's 100 Degree plus summers, this one coinciding with the filming of "The Hunchback of Notre Dame," Charles Laughton would return to The Garden for his lunch... and float in the pool with his face pointing skyward to avoid destroying the complex and time consuming makeup he was wearing.
